My Old Fruiter

Created by Karen 3 years ago

I First met Trev over 30 years ago at the Great Harry Pub in Warsash, he  was one side of the bar

And I was on the other, soon after I met his good lady Louisa, they met Neil and we all became

lifelong friends.  We had a lot in common, Louisa had the twins in December and I had Harry eight

weeks later.  At the time they lived in Beacon Bottom but wanted to move and it so happened someone

up Addison wanted a swap to Park Gate.  When we told Lou she said “ my Trevor won’t move up their he

hates it” “ well he will if we all get on at him!”.  When we approached him about it he replied “ we are not

moving up there with all you wanting women you all likes fighting and arguing my Lou’s not like that”

which we all found hysterical !!!.... a few weeks later Louisa got her way and 28 years later is still the

family home.

You loved to socialise Trevor and we had some of the best nights ever at Sarisbury Social Club your local

until you were unfairly barred for throwing a large bacardi and coke in the Presidents face ......

When the club finished we would all walk up the chinese for food, but not you Trev you had your eye on

bigger things namely the Weathervane on top of Park Gate police station,  I cannot remember how many

times we talked you out of climbing up yhere to get it looking back I wished we’d have helped you you had

your heart set on that trophy.  Strangly it did disapear for a while..... only to be returned a while later ha ha...

Another strange facination you had was for ride on lawn mowers and one night when we were all drunk you

tried to jump start a dumper truck on fielders building site we did have some laughs Trev a lovable rouge and

we all loved you.

As the boy’s got older you would often be out in the clubhouse (back of number 40) I thought you were keeping

an eye on things I have only just found out you were the BARMEN !!. But you were always good to my two boy’s

and they both thought the absolute world of you Trev.

When we moved down the farm Trevor you visited often you said you liked the peace and quiet, personally I think

you and Neilo just liked putting the world to right you both enjoyed a good MOAN ... But it will be strange never

seeing you sitting out there on the wall again, you were kind , you were caring, you were loyal and I cannot tell

you how much we will all miss you. God Bless Trevor Sleep tight. Ka xxxxx
